An MTSU student was assaulted on Wednesday night while walking from a friend’s off-campus apartment, according to Murfreesboro police.

Alexander Dave, 21, told police as he was walking from an unknown location near campus at around 6:15 p.m., a group of black males approached him and began to assault him.

Dave, a junior at MTSU, told police the men did not use any weapons during the assault and none of his personal belongings were stolen.

Dave drove himself to NHC Health Care on University Street where he called police.

He was transported by ambulance to Saint Thomas Rutherford hospital with a broken jaw, broken nose, a loosened tooth and facial injuries, according to the report.
