Two MTSU Students Involved in Reckless Endangerment at Riverdale High School Girls Soccer Match

According to a release from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, two 21-year-old MTSU students, Mohammed Nasoah Al-Dahan and Khaled Mahfouz, were arrested last night after firing a pellet rifle at a Riverdale High School girls soccer match.

No injuries occurred. School Resource Officer (SRO) James Coots heard the shots and then saw the barrel of the pellet rifle sticking out of the passenger window of a Toyota which he and other deputies followed before making a stop. Once the the vehicle was stopped, SRO Coots found a pellet gun in the floorboard.

Both Al-Dahan and Mahfouz were charged with felony reckless endangerment with a weapon and are being held on a $25,000 bond.

“We take our responsibility seriously of protecting students both during classes and at after-school events,” Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold said. “SRO Coots, other responding deputies and the detectives did an outstanding job in quickly apprehending the suspects and charging the suspects. We are happy no one was injured during this unfortunate incident.”
