The Murfreesboro Police Department responded to a complaint from an MTSU freshman who reported she was sexually assaulted at her friend’s off-campus apartment Tuesday night.

MPD officers responded after the 18-year-old victim went to MTSU’s campus police to file a report.

According to the report, the victim and friends had been at College Grove apartments watching a movie. The accused assailant, a 22-year-old MTSU junior, was on top of the victim when she woke up. The assailant was touching the victim above and below the waist, under her clothes. The victim said she was “speechless” when she woke, but stood up and asked him to take her home.

The assault is still under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
