With cold fronts moving in, the likelihood for severe storms are likely across the mid-state this afternoon heading into this evening.
For Murfreesboro however, the National Weather Service meteorologist suggests that the bulk of the severe weather won’t hit the city directly, but the chance is there. At this time, there are no tornado watches on deck, according to the meteorologist, but the cold front moving from back towards the Tennessee River gives chances of more dangerous weather in surrounding counties.
The meteorologist says the Weather Service doesn’t see severe weather in the Murfreesboro area, as the instability of the storms due to showers moving through should prevent anything major heading into the later parts of Thursday.
There are projected showers for much of the rest of the day heading into tonight, and thunderstorms heading in to early Friday.
