On Tuesday, students, faculty and staff gathered in the Media and Entertainment building to view live coverage of the 2016 presidential election during MTSU’s Election Watch Party.

MTSU’s student media covered the election while the Student Government Association, College Republicans, College Democrats and other student organizations watched the results as they were announced state by state on various TVs and projector screens.

Students partook in filling in an electoral map red and blue for each state Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton won throughout the night. Many students discussed their opinions on WMTS’s live broadcast, while others sounded off election triumphs on social media.

  1. I am just now seeing that the university had an election viewing party. A marvelous idea, regardless what side to the political fence a person stands on. The funny thing is how a certain party is acting when that party said they wouldn’t act in the manner they are acting.
