Murfreesboro Police respond to attempted murder on Elrod Street

Murfreesboro Police responded to Elrod Street on Saturday at approximately 9:06 p.m. to investigate an attempted murder.

An MPD officer arrived on the scene to find another MPD officer and an MTSU officer assisting in treating the gunshot wound the victim received.

The officer who had just arrived taped off the area with crime-scene tape and secured the area.

Emergency Medical Services then arrived on the scene and transported the victim to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

The victim was then transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center due to being in critical condition.

MPD detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation.
