Crime: Murfreesboro Police respond to aggravated assault, vandalism on South University Street

Murfreesboro Police responded to an aggravated assault and vandalism on South University Street on Thursday at approximately 11:43 p.m.

Upon arrival, police spoke with the witness, who stated that a man was beating on his door and begging for help. While the witness attempted to get in the door, the man kicked down the witness’s door. The man who kicked the door down was covered with blood, and the witness then called the police. The officers then spoke with the man, who stated that he “got jumped.”

Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene and transported the victim to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital. While the victim was being transported to the hospital, he stated that a man, who was driving a white truck, assaulted him and was helped by three of his friends.

Detectives then took over the situation.
