After performing well against Murray State, Belmont and Tennessee State last week, Middle Tennessee Blue Raider forward Nick King was announced as the Conference USA Player of the Week on Monday. This is the first weekly award of King’s collegiate career.

The Memphis native averaged 24 points and 5.7 rebounds this past week against a trio of Ohio Valley Conference opponents and shot an impressive 50 percent from three (5-10), 63 percent from the field (29-46) and was a flawless 9-9 from the free throw line.

The senior’s largest scoring output came during Monday’s game against Murray State. Although the team was trailing at the half, he managed to help close out the Racers for the first of the Blue Raiders’ two road wins. King finished with a career-high 31 points on 12-of-16 shooting from the field, and he connected on all of his free throw attempts.

King has led the team in scoring in every game so far this season.

The Blue Raiders will return to the hardwood Tuesday evening to face off against Florida Gulf Coast at home. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m.
