East Tennessee State University says it has suspended the school’s Rugby Club after allegations that a juvenile was raped at a party hosted by the organization.

The Johnson City Press reports the 17-year-old girl told police that a Western Carolina University rugby player raped her at a party hosted by the ETSU Rugby Club after the teams played a match on Saturday.

The newspaper reports 22-year-old Dylan Hutchins of Thomasville, North Carolina was charged with statutory rape. Police said Hutchins’ account of the encounter differed from the girl’s.

Kristen Swing, associate director of university relations, said the club has been suspended while the school investigates the allegations. She said rugby isn’t an official sport at ETSU, but it is one of several sports clubs on campus.
