A man claiming to be homeless told police he was robbed of $873 in cash early this morning in a West Northfield Boulevard parking lot, according to a Murfreesboro police report.

Dustin Heath, 24, told police he was attacked by six or seven black men–who Heath reportedly suspected to be Vice Lords–in the parking lot of the Haynes Manor Apartments’ “A” building, emptying his pockets before leaving on foot.

“The men jumped him and hit and kicked him in his face and head area causing injuries to his nose and mouth,” the report said.

Heath said he then walked approximately 0.2 miles to a gas station convenience store on West Northfield, where he passed out in the restroom for “45 minutes to an hour,” according to the report. He called police when he came to.

Heath told police that he had purchased marijuana from Vice Lords in the past, but “did not owe them anything.”
