Murfreesboro Police Department reports several assaults and robberies on and around campus

The Murfreesboro Police Department reported five robberies and assaults on or around campus between Thursday and Sunday.

The crimes, two aggravated assaults, two aggravated robberies and an armed robbery/simple assault, all occurred between Thursday and late Sunday morning. The crimes all took place within less than three quarters of a mile, occurring on or near the west side of campus.

One of the incidents, an aggravated assault on E State Street, resulted in the injury and hospitalization of the 20-year-old victim. The Murfreesboro Police later arrested LaJames Marable, 18, for aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, unlawful possession of a firearm and evading arrest.

No other incident resulted in injury or arrest and there are no known connections between the incidents, despite their geographic and chronological similarities.
