Middle Tennessee (4-4) traveled to Nashville to take on the Lipscom Bisons (6-2). The Blue Raiders offense could never find a rhythm, falling to Lipscom 6-1.
Lipscomb and Middle Tennessee could not create offensive production, until the Bison broke through in the third inning, plating two runs.
The Blue Raiders would finally get on the board in the fifth inning when Kaleb King scored off a Chaz Vesser double. King finished 1-for-4, while Vesser finished 1-for-3.
Jake Wyrick started on the mound for Middle Tennessee, striking out nine batters, allowing one hit, walking four, and allowing two earned runs.
The Blue Raiders left seven runners on-base, which has been an issue all season long. Middle Tennessee will have to string together more hits with runners on-base to take pressure off of their pitching staff.
The Blue Raiders will travel to Mobile, Alabama on Friday to take on the South Alabama Jaguars (6-1) at 6:30 p.m.
