Murfreesboro Police responded to the Verizon Call Center on River Rock Boulevard on Tuesday to investigate a bomb threat.

When the officer arrived at the center, a representative from Verizon informed him that an unknown person called the center at approximately 4:09 p.m. on Tuesday and stated, “I am Akmed, the dead terrorist, and I come to blow you up.”

The Verizon representative ordered all center personnel to exit the building, while an officer and an explosion detection canine searched the building.

Neither Verizon nor MPD dispatch could locate where the number of the caller originated from, and no explosives were found in the building.
