The sun is shining, floats are in the pool and this editor has slept late every day since the end of the semester. Summer is an excellent time to sit back, relax and touch some grass. However, on days forecast with rain and highs of 92, it’s nice to settle on the couch in the air conditioning. Similar to “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,” if you give a college kid a nice couch to lie on, they may want something to watch or play. The Sidelines staff has you covered with some of our summer screen highlights.
Fans mourn shocking ‘Survivor 50’ eliminations
With the final days approaching, the remaining Survivors wrestle with staying comfortable or making big moves to impress the jury.
This episode spans two Tribal Councils, doubling the usual length before next week’s finale. For the first Tribal Council, Joe Hunter wears the immunity necklace and Rick Devens is sent home, putting an end to the entertaining drama and flair he brought this season.
That night, with the final six decided, everyone is working to stay another night and earn their spot in the final three.
In the episode’s next immunity challenge, Tiffany Ervin wins individual immunity despite every contestant working against her. Since she was the name everyone was throwing around, the Survivors had to pivot toward a fan favorite instead.
Despite Cirie Fields’ attempts to frame Aubry Bracco for leaking information, her ally Rizo Velovic leads a blindside against her.
With Fields and Devens gone, two of the season’s most impactful players join the jury, leading some fans to call the final five lackluster.

‘Subnautica 2’ sails on PC and Xbox Series X/S
“Subnautica 2,” the follow-up to critically acclaimed indie game “Subnautica,” was released in early access on May 14 for PC and the Xbox Series X/S.
One new feature in the game is the addition of multiplayer, which its predecessor lacked. Players also have the ability to modify their own DNA to obtain new abilities, a feature that was originally cut from “Subnautica.”

‘Obsession’ dramatizes avoidance and codependency
Internet comedian Curry Barker stuns audiences with his sickeningly memorable horror film “Obsession.”
Bear, a hopeless romantic in love with one of his close friends, breaks a mysterious “One Wish Willow” as a last-ditch effort to make Nikki Freeman fall in love with him. In doing so, he discovers that his throwaway wish comes at a sinister price.
Bear must decide when a relationship with this shell of Nikki stops being worth pursuing as she spirals further into insanity.
The film explores codependency and avoidance as Bear fights to keep Nikki with him and refuses to risk losing her — or what’s left of her.
Several impactful moments in the film set it apart from recent horror releases and mark a hopeful summer horror renaissance.

Dude, ‘Regular Show’ is back in a new reboot
From 2010-2016, “Regular Show” took over Cartoon Network with a wild cast of characters going through mindless adventures and everyday life. 10 years later, best friends Mordecai and Rigby are back together in “Regular Show: The Lost Tapes,” released on May 11.
Episode one opens the new series with lollipop-headed Pops living a perfect day in the “Afterlife,” until things get complicated when his favorite VHS tape unwinds and he has to search for a new one. As in many of the series episodes, chaos ensues, but all ends as it should — with Pops finding several VHS tapes of the “Regular Show.”
Seeing as the tapes Pops found were plentiful, fans can hope that there is more than one season of the show’s revival. However, for now, season one holds 11 episodes of hilarity and surreal situations. Tucker Young
