The Middle Tennessee Lady Raiders were back in action on Thursday night, defeating the Trevecca Nazarene University Trojans by a final score of 88-41.

The Lady Raiders were led by the efforts of junior Alex Johnson, who scored 24 points on 8-12 shooting in the 47-point victory. LaSonja Edwards added 17 points of her own off the bench to give Middle Tennessee a spark whenever Johnson was out of the game.

While the final score wasn’t close, MTSU struggled to hold onto the ball in the first half. By the time the halftime horn sounded, the Lady Raiders had committed 16 turnovers, a number much too high for head coach Rick Insell’s liking. If the team wants to live up to the hype of being selected as the preseason favorite to win the conference, they must improve their ball-security.
