Photo Essay: Why pet owners should adopt, not shop

According to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), over 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized each year. This tragic statistic could be drastically reduced if people would adopt their animals from shelters and sanctuaries instead of shopping from breeders or pet stores. With overcrowding in shelters and backyard breeding becoming an ever-increasing problem, there are millions of pets that need re-homing, and it’s up to each community to provide it for them.
