A former Vanderbilt player convicted of raping a fellow student with a teammate tells Dr. Phil in a jailhouse interview that he is sorry for his actions.

Corey Batey was convicted along with Brando Vandenburg on Jan. 27 of aggravated rape and aggravated sexual battery in an attack in a campus dorm. Batey faces decades in prison when sentenced March 6. The attack was captured on video and the case captured national attention.

Batey was stoic when the jury announced its verdict on his 21st birthday.

Dr. Phil asks Batey how he feels about being found guilty, details about the incident June 23, 2013, and the cover-up detailed by prosecutors. The interview at the Nashville Criminal Justice Center which airs Monday also covers Batey’s friendship with Vandenburg of Indio, California.
