With the last votes coming in, the top 2 went back to where it all began, performing their audition songs on the main stage.

Hannah Harper sang her original song, “String Cheese.” In this final performance, her voice is noticeably more confident than her audition at Belmont University.

Jordan McCullough did the same, performing his audition song, “Goodness of God,” by Bethel Music. The worship leader brought church to the American Idol stage in his performance, just as he’s done all season.

With the final results in, it has been determined by the nation that the winner of American Idol is Hannah Harper, with Jordan McCullough cheering her on as confetti falls onto the stage.

As American Idol moves into the last hour of its finale, there is still time for more music and memorable performances.

Hannah Harper and Lee Ann Womack graced the stage to sing “I Hope You Dance,” along with a sweet video from Harper’s three sons telling her how much they love her and she’s “their American Idol winner.”

Jordan McCullough followed right behind, performing “Confetti” with Tori Kelly and Daniel Stallworth. The three harmonized and brought a smooth jazz sound to the stage.

American Idol continued walking down memory lane as Kyndal Inskeep and 16-year-old Lainey Grace performed Inskeep’s original song “Honest” together in remembrance of performing it together during Grace’s American Idol audition.

In the last moments before the commercial break, Jazon Mraz and top three finalist Keyla Richardson took the stage to perform his hit song “I Won’t Give Up.”

Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood began the last 30 minutes of the finale by performing Richie’s song “Deep River Woman.”

Jordan McCullough and Hannah Harper have advanced to the top two, and everyone is eagerly awaiting the final results. 

During the wait, American Idol is putting on the live showcase of a lifetime, beginning with special guests En Vogue performing some of their hits, including “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It).”

This season’s finale isn’t just making dreams come true for the finalists, but also for American Idol contestant Lucas Leon, who was invited to “hang out” at the Grand Ole Opry after performing “I’m Gonna Miss Her” by Brad Paisley with Paisley himself. 

Even Nelly couldn’t miss out on the last episode, performing the “Cruise (Remix)” with American Idol contestant Chris Tungsten. 

Other performances included Motley Crüe with Carrie Underwood, Cameron Whitcomb with American Idol contestant Brooks, Shinedown and Alicia Keys with RAYE. 

As the finale is still broadcasting, there are more performances to come from the top two. 

Standing on the spacious stage surrounded by shining blue spotlights, Ryan Seacrest introduced the finalists: Hannah Harper, Keyla Richardson and Jordan McCullough. The three hyped up the crowd by walking out singing Carrie Underwood’s single, “The Champion.” 

The episode held extra-special moments for the contestants and their fans, including mentorship by Grammy Award-winner Alicia Keys.

Through Keys’ coaching, McCullough showcased his joyous stage presence by bouncing around the stage wearing a slate-blue leather suit and showcasing his beautiful voice. McCullough blazed through his rendition of “If I Ain’t Got You,” honoring the legend.

The Murfreesboro-native brings style and strength to his vocals that could bring a tear to any dry eye. He did just that, with the camera panning to McCullough’s parents in tears, sidestage.

After the hometown package showcasing Murfreesboro’s love and support of the worship leader, McCullough came out for one more live performance.

Donning a navy blue striped suit, McCullough stood under a single spotlight and performed Smokie Norful’s “Dear God.”

In honor of the final episode, Keys performed her song “Lovin’ You” with the top three, bringing beautiful harmonies and a breath-hitching announcement of the top two.
