MTSU organizations host teach-in to learn about labor movements and continue their own

Students attended a teach-in in the student union about the history of the labor movement and the history of activism on the MTSU campus on Nov. 25. It was organized by the MTSU Young Democratic Socialists (YDSA) and the MTSU Student Worker Advocacy (SWAY).

The Tennessee Drivers Union meets with Nashville government officials to discuss demands

The Tennessee Drivers Union met with six Nashville Metro Council members and a delegate from the mayor’s office Tuesday night at the Glencliff United Methodist Church to discuss improvements to working conditions for rideshare and taxi drivers.

Roughly 90 Uber, Lyft and taxi drivers, members of the newly-formed Tennessee Drivers Union, marched down Nashville’s Broadway Sept. 13 as part of their series of strikes that began Aug. 30.
