Two students at Raiders Ridge apartments were robbed of a number of sneakers totaling nearly $1300 in value Monday night, according to a Murfreesboro police report.

Jonathan Rivers, 21, told police that while he and his roommate were at the MTSU Recreation Center, his roommate received a text at around 7:42 that the front and back doors of the apartment were open. His roommate went home to close the doors, then returned to the Rec.

When the two got home, Rivers saw that his room had been ransacked, and found that four $200 pairs of shoes, one pair of $185 shoes, and one pair of $310 shoes, all retro Air Jordans, were missing.

There was no sign of forced entry, and Rivers told police he could not remember if he had locked the doors. There were no witnesses, and no evidence to be collected.

This is why it is so important to lock your doors though. People never think that they will be stolen from, but it could happen at any minute and you’ll regret it when you don’t have the right safety measures in place.

Making sure to lock your doors and windows is only the first step. But a lot of people take it a step further by getting CCTV for their home but also making use of bulletproof glass. This type of glass means that it’s a lot harder for people to try and force entry into your home, so if this is something that interests you then why not check out this site here: https://www.riotglass.com/level-ballistic-glass-need/.

Don’t forget it only takes less then minutes for someone to enter your home and take something valuable from you. So whilst you are out partying with friends, or just doing some general shopping. Always remember to lock your doors.
