How to ring in the new year in style: Nashville edition

If you still haven’t made any plans for New Year’s Eve, you’re in luck: Nashville offers a ton of great events to ring in the New Year. From giant outdoor concerts to cozy bars tucked away in the city, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this New Year’s Eve.

Perhaps the most anticipated New Year’s Eve event is Nashville’s annual Bash on Broadway. This experience is one that every Tennessean should experience once, if not more. This giant NYE party takes place right on the main drag in downtown Nashville. This year, Kings of Leon will be headlining the event along with Chris Stapleton, Kelsea Ballerini and more.

Beginning in 2009, the Bash on Broadway has only gotten bigger and better through the years. While the acts have gotten grander, the party still remains free, so don’t worry about purchasing a ticket. The event is first come, first serve. Get there early to get a good spot to watch the 15-foot-tall music note drop down a 150-foot tower of LED lights as we say goodbye to 2015 and welcome in the new year.

Vendors will be lining the streets on Broadway selling food and drinks, as well as merchandise. You can check out the official vendor list here.

If a giant outdoor party isn’t your thing, you’re in luck. Music-lovers can still dance the night away indoors.

Nashville-formed band Moon Taxi will be playing a show at War Memorial Auditorium. If you missed their performance at Live on the Green, this is your last chance to see them perform in their self-proclaimed favorite city in 2015. You can also catch Nashville natives The Delta Saints at Marathon Music Works. Tickets for both of these shows can be purchased online at the venues’ websites.

If you want to ditch the party scene and instead relax to some classical music, you can check out the Nashville Symphony’s production at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

Not a fan of huge crowds, but still want to experience Music City? Head straight to the bars. Although there are several bars with no cover charge, most require attendees to purchase tickets beforehand. While the ticket prices to enjoy a drink on the strip are steep, you’ll at least be able to enjoy Kings of Leon in the comfort of a warm tavern.

If you’re on a budget but still want to have fun in the bar atmosphere, check out one of the bars ditching the pricey tickets. Tin Roof, Full Moon and Legends are a few that are opting out of the high prices in exchange for the old fashioned first come-first served mentality. Get there early to avoid long lines.

Restaurant wise, most places will be open around dinnertime. Nashville is littered with cheap pizza joints and fast-food restaurants. If you’re in the mood for something on the fancier side of things, make your reservation at The Southern, a farm-to-table restaurant offering a three-course meal in honor of New Year’s Eve.

Check out this list of other fine dining options that are still taking reservations.

Regardless of what you end up doing on New Year’s Eve, if it’s spent in Nashville, it will be an unforgettable ending to 2015 and an amazing beginning to 2016.
