Blue Raiders cruise to win over Memphis

Middle Tennessee (7-5) scored four runs in the seventh inning en route to an 8-2 win over the Memphis Tigers (5-4) at Reese Smith Jr. Field Tuesday night.

MTSU sophomore Jake Wyrick picked up his second win of the season in the victory over the Tigers.

Wyrick pitched five innings and posted an ERA of 3.65 and a WHIP of 1.25.

Blue Raider freshman Blake Benefield went 2-for-3 at the plate, including his first-career home run as a member of the Blue Raiders.

Junior Chaz Vesser continued his stellar play with another solid outing. Vesser went 2-for-4 at the plate and posted one RBI.

Kaleb King and Riley Delgado both added doubles in the contest.

The Blue Raiders will, once again, face the Memphis Tigers tomorrow in Jackson, Tennessee. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. CT.
