An MTSU student reported a rape that occurred Saturday, according to the Murfreesboro Police Department.
The victim told police the incident took place in an apartment at Student Quarters, located at 1350 Hazelwood St., and that she knew the alleged assailant, who matches the name of an MTSU sophomore in the student directory.
According to the police report, a rape kit was collected and detectives have taken over the case.
