This Saturday will mark the first ever Murfreesboro Pride event.

During such a historical time for the L.G.B.T. community, this is a pivotal move for the college town to promote acceptance.

The festivities will kick off with the Boro Pride Walk at the courthouse at 4 p.m. and will continue with a lineup of local artists. The performances will begin with local acts Night Sabers, Radical Arts, The Pleading and The Strumms and will continue with local DJ Conundrum, a drag show and headliner Ryan Cassatta, ending around 10 p.m.

There will also be vendors and refreshments available.

You can buy t-shirts, register your L.G.B.T. affiliated group and find more information on the Facebook event page.

The event, which is hosted by Tennessee Equality Project Foundation and TEP Rutherford County Committee, is free, and all ages are welcome.

The Block will be throwing the unofficial after party for Murfreesboro Pride beginning at 10p.m., featuring artists trans*, Boyfriend, O, Summer and Mom and Dad. The cover is $3.

You can follow along with the event on social media through #BoroPride.
