A man was shot and killed in front of his pregnant wife during a carjacking on Sunday morning on Interstate 24.

Jordan Stevens, who attended Middle Tennessee State University, and his wife Aileen were on their way to church when carjacked and held hostage by Dangelo Dorsey.

In a TBI statement, Dorsey shot and killed one person and injured another driver before he drove off in an undetermined vehicle and rear ended a Ford Mustang in which Stevens and his wife were traveling.

Dorsey took the couple hostage at gun point and forced them to drive Dorsey to the couple’s home in McMinnville.

At that point, Dorsey separated them and killed Stevens while his wife watched. Afterwards, he forced Mrs. Stevens back into the family’s Rav4 and returned to the interstate.

As the police were led into a high speed chase down the interstate, Dorsey flipped and crashed the vehicle and subsequently shot and killed himself.

Pregnant Mrs. Stevens was safely recovered.
