The wait for recording artist Joji’s highly anticipated new album is almost over, and fans can get early access to the album exclusively at local Murfreesboro, Tennessee business Crying Cat Books and Records.

After a nearly three-year-long hiatus, the “Glimpse of Us” singer surprised fans with a new single, “PIXELATED KISSES,” on Oct. 14, 2025. Three weeks later, the artist announced that his fourth studio album, “Piss In The Wind,” will be released on Feb. 6, 2026. 

Since the announcement, Joji has put out five singles, giving listeners a taste of what’s to come. In December, the artist revealed the album’s 21-song tracklist, making it Joji’s largest project yet. 

On Jan. 13, the artist posted a list of local stores in every state that will have early access to the album. Crying Cat Books and Records was one of three stores in Tennessee chosen. 

“Many of the listening parties we host at Crying Cat are organized by the people behind the project Record Store Day (RSD). They are responsible for selecting stores for these events,” said co-owner Fritz Valentine.

Crying Cat Books and Records is a local business tucked just outside historic downtown Murfreesboro and only a few miles away from MTSU’s campus. While the store’s main attraction is its wide selection of books, it also offers various vinyl records, CDs and even cassette tapes.

“Crying Cat Books and Records was born out of a lifelong dream,” said owner Terri DeLong. “After years of working in management, I started Crying Cat on my own in 2021.”

On Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 5 p.m., the shop is hosting a listening party for the new album and accepting preorders so customers can be the first to get their hands on the record when it officially releases.
