With a 10-2 win over Alabama A&M University (7-20), Middle Tennessee baseball head coach Jerry Meyers reached 250 career wins.
Under Meyers this season, the Blue Raiders started 8-2, the best beginning to a season since 2013.
Meyers is the 23rd baseball coach in Middle Tennessee history. Before stepping into the role of head coach, Meyers served as the interim skipper in the 2023 season after serving as MTSU’s pitching coach and associate coach in 2022.
Before arriving in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Meyers served two stints as a pitching coach at the University of South Carolina, from 1997-2004 and 2011-2017. During Meyer’s time with the Gamecocks, he developed 17 All-American pitchers and helped lead the Gamecocks to an NCAA national championship in 2011.
The Blue Raiders skipper led MTSU to the semifinals of the CUSA tournament in 2023. A No. 7 seed in the tournament, Middle Tennessee was the lowest-seeded team to reach the semifinals since Rice University in 2019.
