A partial power outage impacted the opening night of Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee.
Areas of the festival’s grounds lost power around 8:30 p.m. Affected areas include some stages including screens and lights on the What Stage, Bonnaroo sign, ferris wheel, the Totem Fountain, merchandise tents, some backstage areas and several food vendors and Centeroo bathrooms.
An announcer on the What Stage told attendees, “We are aware that the power is out in certain areas. We will update you as we assess further.”
The show resumed with Four Tet. Meanwhile, parts of the grounds – including vendors, the ferris wheel and merchandise tents — remain without power.
Officials reiterated the situation on X at 8:53 p.m.
At 9:10 p.m., Bonnaroo organizers posted on X, “Thank you for your patience. The show is resuming now on What Stage. The schedule on the website and app is up to date. We are aware that there are still certain areas without power, and we are working on getting power fully restored as soon as possible.”
Organizers released a schedule update for the What Stage. Performances by Four Tet and Skrillex are delayed by 30 minutes. In the afternoon, Skrillex was already delayed by an hour.
“The power went out while we were getting food,” attendee Spencer Sandriln, 30, said. “We thought it may have been just that half of the camp. Now, it’s looking spotty. It’s everywhere and it’s really weird. I’m assuming a generator went down.”
According to Duck River EMC Outage Map, the power outage solely affects The Farm.
Power returns to the festival as of 10:21 p.m. According to Bonnaroo, power has been restored to some areas.
