Scattered showers and high winds are expected to continue today in the Nashville area with thunderstorms starting around 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

These high winds aren’t meant to be too bad but it’s warned property damage may occur as a result of it. The last time we saw winds like this, multiple homeowners had to get a roof replacement Winston Salem after the storm damaged their property. Other damages could come in the form of fallen electricity poles, damaged roofs and fallen trees.

Residents are encouraged to check their roof for any structural faults as well as look into tree removal companies for any old or damaged trees on their property. Trees can easily be blown over onto cars, roads and houses if winds get high enough so hopefully, people ensure all trees on their property are structurally safe.

They are also asked to be patient with the service workers who will be ready to fix any electrical outages that we may encounter from damaged wires and poles.

A wind advisory has been issued for today until 12 a.m., and severe thunderstorms could last until 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.

After 1 a.m., the National Weather Service said the storms should dissipate, leaving weather conditions on Wednesday mostly sunny with a high of 58 degrees.
