The hearing for former Middle Tennessee State University history professor Dr. James Huhta has been set for Sept. 13 at 8:30 at the main courthouse in West Palm Beach, Florida. James Huhta was arrested in May for the alleged murder of his wife, Mary Huhta. The couple was visiting their family in Singer Island, Florida when Mary Huhta was killed.

The Huhtas shared a passion for preservation both nationally and locally. James Huhta was the driving force behind the creation of MTSU’s Center for Historic Preservation. Mary Huhta served as a member of the Murfreesboro City Council.
