Middle Tennessee State University’s head volleyball coach Dan Ahiers has been suspended indefinitely from his coaching duties, according to the Daily News Journal.

Ahiers has missed the past four matches, but no detail had been given as to why. In statement by Chris Massaro, MTSU athletic director, Ahiers was placed on paid administrative leave Sept. 13. Assistant Head Coach Jeff Huebner has served as the interim head coach during Ahiers absence.

No statement from the university has been given to the reason of Ahiers because it’s “a personnel matter,” according to Massaro.

Ahiers previously coached the Carson-Newman Eagles before replacing former MTSU head coach, Matt Peck, who was fired mid-season in 2015. MTSU volleyball holds a 3-10 record this season.
