A man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, possession of marijuana and criminal impersonation after threatening to kill a man in his home Saturday night, according to Murfreesboro police.

Police were called to the Benley Street residence of Portia Suttles, 24, in response to a complaint that Brandon Anderson, 28, of North Academy Street, had a gun in the home.

Nicholas Buckingham, 33, told police in a report that he came to Suttles’s home, smelled marijuana and asked why someone was smoking with a child in the house. He said Anderson then came downstairs and began arguing with him.

Anderson then held what Buckingham thought to be a .357 revolver in his pocket and said he would kill Buckingham. Buckingham then left and called police.

Suttles said that Anderson was holding a cell phone when he made the threat.

Anderson had an outstanding warrant for felony violation of probation. Twelve grams of marijuana was found in a jacket in a closet in the upstairs room Anderson was in.

He is being held on $9,750 bond at Rutherford County jail.
