A wind advisory for Rutherford County could make morning travel treacherous for morning commuters, according to the National Weather Service in Nashville.

The wind advisory began on noon Tuesday, Feb. 27, and is expected to last until noon on Wednesday, Feb. 28, across all of Middle Tennessee.

NWS Nashville warned of “southwest winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts 35 to 45 mph.” It also warns of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. with a 90% chance of precipitation and plummeting temperatures.

The combination of wind and rain could make driving difficult. The most dangerous time will be during the morning drive for many commuters.

The bad weather should begin to calm down by the afternoon hours.
