Sexual Assault Reported to Campus Police

Emergency room personnel at St. Thomas Rutherford hospital notified MTSU Police that a student had been admitted to the ER on Friday for sexual assault, according to campus crime logs.

The student did not wish to file a report with campus police. However, the victim did have a rape kit performed, according to the log.

Sidelines maintains a policy of not naming victims of sexual assault.

There is no location of the assault listed within the log report. No alert has been issued from campus police yet.

This is one of three sexual assaults in the first two months since classes started. Several other students have reported stalkings, robberies and harassment on campus.

These assaults have all taken place in what is known as “the Red Zone” for female students, where they are statistically at a higher risk of assault until their Thanksgiving break.
