In the early hours of Saturday morning, officers responded to a shooting at University Ridge Apartments located on South Rutherford Blvd. Three of the five victims are students.

Officers spoke with one of the non-student victims who stated that shortly after arriving home to her apartment, she heard gunshots coming from a party at another building. A stray bullet from the shots fired came through the window of her apartment.

Two students’ cars were shot by stray bullets.

Officers then responded to the Shell gas station located on North Rutherford Blvd. as two victims located there had been shot by stray bullets as they were crossing the apartment parking lot. One of the victims shot is a student. Both victims were taken to the emergency room for bullet wound treatment.

Detectives arrived at the apartment complex and took over the investigation.
