The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency says the state remains in a state of emergency as it deals with more snow, subfreezing temperatures and slick roads.
The agency said on Wednesday morning that another inch of snow fell overnight between Nashville and the Kentucky border, and travel along roadways is hazardous due to the pavement re-freezing.
Tennessee Department of Transportation officials told media that conditions on Interstate 65 from Brentwood to Columbia were hazardous.
According to TEMA, there were more than 40,000 people without power Wednesday morning, down from about 59,000 Tuesday night.
The agency says four people have died in weather-related crashes: one in Knox County, one of Overton County and two in Williamson County.
