A 45-year-old man was found dead after a fire at his home, according to Nashville authorities.

The Tennessean reports the man was found in bed Saturday morning in the room where the fire is believed to have started.

Officials say the ceiling collapsed on top of him, and Nashville Fire Department spokesman Brian Haas says he lived alone.

Fire crews arrived in approximately six minutes and found smoke coming from the eaves and flames shooting out of vents.

The blaze was under control within 20 minutes. No other injuries or damage to neighboring homes were reported.

Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.
