CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Middle Tennessee’s women’s golf team concluded its play in the Hurricane Invitational Wednesday, finishing tied for tenth at the Biltmore Country Club.
The No. 58 Blue Raiders recorded their lowest score of the Hurricane Invitational, and the lowest of the day, Wednesday in the final round with a 288. They finished the tournament shooting a three-round total of 892.
The 17th-ranked Northwestern Wildcats won the event with a score of 859, followed by host Miami (865) and Iowa State (868). Louisville was fourth with a total of 873, while Minnesota rounded out the top five, finishing fifth with a total of 878.
Junior Avery George finished tied for 11th, tallying a score of 66 in the final round with six birdies. George finished with a score of 217 for the tournament.
Senior Allie Knight recorded a score of 72 in the final round with a total of three birdies. She compiled a total score of 220, leaving her tied for 21st. tied for 21st.
Sophomore Samantha Gotcher finished tied for 56th after notching a score of 74 in the final round with one birdie. Gotcher finished with a score of 227 over the three rounds of play.
Juniors Maddie Denton and Emily Miller finished tied for 67th. Denton recorded a score of 76 in the final round with three birdies en route to a total of 231. Miller shot a 79 in the final round with two birdies on her way to shooting total of 231 as well.
The Blue Raiders will next head to Hawaii for the Dr. Donnis Thomas Invitational. The tournament begins on Tuesday at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course.
