Tennessee Highway Patrol will be redoubling their traffic safety enforcement efforts for 48 hours for St. Patrick’s Day.
The campaign began at 12:01 a.m. today and will conclude at midnight tomorrow, March 18, according to a release from the THP website.
The THP will use sobriety and seatbelt checkpoints and will be patrolling bars and pubs. The Patrol arrested 54 people on suspicion of driving drunk and issued 416 seat belt citations in last year’s 48-hour holiday period.
Davidson County Sheriff’s Office will be continuing their Sober Ride program, in which they offer “no questions asked” free rides home.
