Clinton, Trump secure early votes in Rutherford Co.

Republican and Democratic frontrunners Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton secured the most early votes in Rutherford County.

Early voting numbers show that Trump received 5,261 votes, while Sen. Ted Cruz came in second with 3,411 early votes in Rutherford County. Clinton, on the other hand, received 3,240 early votes, and Sanders followed with 2,067 votes. As of now, it’s projected that Trump and Clinton will win the Tennessee primary. Although the final results for Rutherford County are not in, Trump is leading with 37 percent of votes in the Republican primary and Clinton with 56 percent in the Democratic primary.
