Murfreesboro Police respond to shooting at Student Quarters Apartments

Murfreesboro Police responded to Student Quarters apartment complex on Greenland Drive to investigate a shooting at approximately 1:37 p.m. on Tuesday, according to MPD Public Information Officer Kyle Evans.

Upon arrival, officers discovered one victim who had been shot and a suspect running on foot towards Highland Avenue. It was also reported that a second victim may have fled the area before the police arrived.

A K9 team and the responding officers searched the area, but they did not locate the supsect or the second victim.

Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene and transported the victim to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

No suspects have been identified at this time.
