Murfreesboro Police responded to a meth lab fire on South Church Street on Sunday morning.

According to MPD Public Information Officer Kyle Evans, responding officers arrived behind the Tiger Mart on South Church Street and discovered a man that was wearing only underwear and appeared to be burnt on his upper body. The man was then transported to the Vanderbilt Burn Center.

Further investigation revealed that the man came out of a room at America’s Best Value Inn on South Church Street. When officers investigated the man’s room, they found items consistent with that of a meth lab, as well as signs of charring.

Adjacent rooms were quarantined and the man’s room was cleared of all dangerous materials by Clandestine Lab Technicians and MPD detectives.
