Middle Tennessee men’s tennis (22-8) received its bid to the NCAA tournament on Monday and will be facing off in the Round of 64 against North Carolina State University (16-7), in Athens, Georgia, on Friday, May 1.
The Blue Raiders clinched their bid, winning the Conference USA Tournament by defeating Liberty University (14-11), 4-2.
This bid marks Middle Tennessee’s seventh-straight NCAA tournament, and the program is looking to advance past the Round of 32 for the first time in school history.
“We’re going to battle, we’re going to fight,” senior Karim Al-Amin said. “I think we have everything we need to give ourselves an opportunity to go to the Sweet 16.”
Middle Tennessee previously faced off against NC State in the 2021-2022 NCAA Tournament, falling 4-3 in the Round of 32.
The ITA ranks the Blue Raiders at No. 48 in the latest rankings; the Blue Raiders faced off against six ITA ranked opponents in the 2026 season.
NC State is ranked No. 31 in the same ITA rankings, picking up 16 wins but on a four-match losing streak.
The winner between MTSU and NC State, will take on the winner of Elon University (8-12) and the University of Georgia (18-8), set for Saturday, May 2. Match times are to be announced.
