DeVonne Womack, 27, was arrested early Sunday morning on charges for two armed robberies and attempted first degree murder, according to a Murfreesboro police arrest report.

At approximately 12:03 a.m, a call was received in reference to an armed robbery aggravated assault at 1311 Greenland Drive, near Campus Pub, during which a man walked up to Victor Evans’s vehicle and demanded his personal items, according to the police report.

The suspect reportedly asked Evans “Do you know what I look like?” and “Did you see me?” He also advised the victim that “I will shoot you,” according to the report.

The victim described the suspect as “a heavy-set black male, 25-35 years old, dark hoodie, with messy hair, possibly dreads.”

At approximately 12:33 a.m., 30 minutes after the report from Greenland Drive, police responded to a silent alarm from the Thorton’s gas station on Old Fort Parkway in reference to an aggravated robbery and attempted murder.

When police arrived at the gas station, they found a victim, Samuel Davis, bleeding from a gunshot wound in his leg and the upper left side of his chest. Police administered first aid on the scene before transporting Davis to Saint Thomas Rutherford Medical Center. He was later flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for additional treatment.

Davis described his attacker as a “black male wearing a gray hoodie.” Davis added that his girlfriend, Melanie Hart, was robbed as well.

At just after 3 a.m., Womack was arrested after a positive identification from survelliance video at the Thorton’s shooting.

When transported to the Murfreesboro Police Department, Womack waived his rights and gave statements implicating himself in both robberies, according to his arrest report.

Womack was transferred to Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department and charged with attempted first degree murder, two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of especially aggravated robbery, and two counts of theft over $50.

He is currently held on $127,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court November 25.
