Salvation Army is once again going to provide meals for those who cannot have a nice turkey dinner this Thanksgiving.
With local volunteers to give assistance in dispensing food and preparing the set up, anyone who needs a meal for the holidays is welcome to come. Director of development John Mitchell says Salvation Army have prepared enough meals for however many people may come to the shelter.
“We anticipate 75-100 meals to our residents or those in need of a meal,” Mitchell said.
Mitchell also stated that many volunteers have already signed on, but some have expressed the need to help out at the shelter. MTSU student Tyler Costa thinks that helping out those less fortunate at such a holiday is definitely worth the time.
“To help feed the homeless on Thanksgiving through the Salvation Army is going to be a great thing, and I’m honestly excited,” he said.
Murfreesboro’s Salvation Army shelter, located at 1137 W Main St, will begin serving at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving where the meals are served in its cafeteria.
