Bonnaroo 2016: Dead & Company, LCD Soundsystem, J. Cole top lineup

Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival has announced its 2016 lineup on Conan.

Headliners include Pearl Jam, as previously confirmed earlier today, alongside rumored LCD Soundsystem, Dead & Company (playing two sets), J. Cole, Ellie Goulding and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. The lineup features artists from  a varying range of genres. Death Cab for Cutie, M83, Halsey, Big Grams (Big Boi from Outkast and Phantogram), Band of Horses, Leon Bridges and Tyler, the Creator are just a taste of Bonnaroo’s diverse artists.

Notably, psych rockers Tame Impala will be doing a late night set and Sean Lennon will presumably join Les Claypool for a performance as The Claypool Lennon Delirium.

It’s suffice to say jam band and electronic fans will be satisfied with names such as Zeds Dead, Griz, RL Grime, Adventure Club, Lettuce and Papadosio making appearances on the list.

Former MTSU student and Nashville-based artist Natalie Prass joins fellow locals Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Rayland Baxter, Bully and Judah and the Lion.

This year Bonnaroo will feature more “experiences” than ever before, still including classics like The Fountain, The Comedy Theatre, Splash-A-Roo and its much buzzed about food vendors. Also, as we told you earlier, permanent bathrooms will be added.

More artists will be announced before the festival, which will occur June 9-12, 2016 in Manchester, Tennessee.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 22nd here at noon.

  1. I’m a long-time fan of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts festival. I watched the Conen lineup announcement, and even got the lineup beforehand from the Bonnaroo app when it leaked. I was a bit disappointed, however, in the headliners that were announced. The styles of music presented this year seem a bit less diverse than they were in previous years, and there isn’t really an act that single-handedly decides if I will be buying a ticket this year or not. I’m particularly excited for Tyler the Creator, M83, Flosstradamus, Ellie Goulding, and Death Cab for Cutie, but still not convinced that I’ll be going this year, especially now that tickets have increased in price yet again. Permanent bathrooms are a great addition to the farm, though! I have many unpleasant memories of the porta-potties used in 2013 and 2014, and don’t think I can take another year of that. I’m interested to see how this will effect the attendance of the event. Regardless of the mixed feelings toward attending this year, I highly recommend going to Bonnaroo if you haven’t before. It’s an experience that you will remember for the rest of your life.
