Sexual Assault and Attempted Rape Reported at The Pointe

Murfreesboro police responded to a report of a sexual assault and attempted rape at The Pointe at Raiders Campus apartments on Monday night.

The victim, a senior at MTSU, reported that she and a friend were in her home watching Netflix when she fell asleep. She reported that she woke up to the assailant on top of her, shirtless, and attempting to remove her clothes, touching her breasts and crotch.

The victim also reported that a roommate heard her bedroom door being locked before the incident, and stated she did not lock the door before falling asleep. The assailant is believed to have locked the door.

There are no witnesses to the incident and no arrests have been made at this time.
