A list of local and national mental health resources

Monday afternoon, MTSU experienced an immense tragedy when a student died on campus. Sidelines would like to provide resources for students, faculty, staff and community members that are grieving or struggling with mental health issues of their own. Below are national and campus hotlines, along with counseling services and hotlines geared toward LGBTQ+ individuals.

Campus vigil and other gatherings set to take place after student death

Following the death of an MTSU student on campus Monday, MT Lambda, the LGBTQIA+ student association, and a host of other campus organizations have scheduled events in the coming days to remember Serenity Birdsong and to let students and members of the campus community know that help is available.  Raiders for Christ and UKirk already hosted a prayer event outside the library on Monday evening, but here is a list of upcoming events.

Rutherford County voting precinct housing MTSU clocks lowest early voting turnout

Registered voters began to cast votes in Rutherford County on Oct. 16, when early voting began. Sidelines will track turnout in the county over the course of the early voting period, ending on Oct. 31. We will be looking at the percentage of registered voters that have cast their ballots in the county as a whole as well as comparing turnout between precincts.
