Months of speculation can finally be put to rest because the 2013 Bonnaroo lineup is officially here.
The bands at this year’s ‘Roo, scheduled for June 13-16 in Manchester, were announced early Tuesday afternoon.
The lineup unveiling was done via an hour-long video, streamed live on the bonnaroo365 YouTube channel and was hosted by “Weird Al” Yankovic – an odd choice for a festival that has hosted some of the biggest names in music. The video began by reminiscing about past festivals, and ended with the big announcement.
The rumors are finally true, and Paul McCartney will headline the four-day festival on the farm along with Mumford & Sons and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
Not feeling it? Don’t worry. ‘Roo offers a plethora of artists – some well known, others not so much – from every genre, so that all attendees can find someone to appreciate.
Old school music fans will rejoice at the presence of ZZ Top and Wilco, while fans of new-age techno will thoroughly enjoy the likes of Pretty Lights, The xx, Passion Pit and Animal Collective. The popular Kendrick Lamar will be returning this year to service the rap lovers, and folkies will be delighted to see The Lumineers and Of Monsters and Men on the list. Nashvillians will be properly represented at this year’s ‘Roo as well, with natives JEFF The Brotherhood performing for their first time at the festival. Beloved comedian Daniel Tosh will also be gracing the Bonnaroo grounds with his presence.
All in all, the announcement can be rightfully dubbed a success by music lovers and Bonnaroovians alike. Four months from now, the farm will be filled with music, CamelBaks and happy faces. Get ready.
