Murfreesboro Police investigated a shooting in the area of SE Broad Street and Middle Tennessee Boulevard yesterday around noon.

The victim stated that a male was traveling at 20 mph on SE Broad St. and passed him on his left side, giving him the middle finger.

The victim reported that he pulled over in front of the driver, approached his window and asked, “What is your problem?” The driver then “reached into the glove compartment and pulled out a silver revolver,” shooting the victim in the abdomen area.

The driver, Isaac Garner, an MTSU senior, stated that he “feared for his life” when the victim approached his vehicle. A witness stated that the victim approached Garner’s vehicle in an “aggressive manner” and “took an aggressive stance” before he was shot.

Detectives were notified of the situation and both vehicles were towed after the scene was processed.

Garner was taken into custody.
